Rockstar Games Reveal Details On GTA V Soundtrack

There are a ton of factors that make the Grand Theft Auto series one of the best series in the history of video games. Aside from the ability to make some of your biggest crime wave dreams come true, you can do it to the soundtrack of some awesome music.

In an interview with the game’s soundtrack supervisor, Ivan Pavlovich, he revealed more details about the GTA V’s 17 radio stations and the over 240 songs included.

“The score plays during missions and the open world gameplay, and during online play. It’s completely dynamic, and engineered very similar to what we’ve done in the past with our interactive stem system – it responds to what you’re doing with your character,” said Pavlovich.

Stephen Pope and Nathan Williams of Wavves host a modern rock station in the game while Flying Lotus, Pam Grier, Bootsy Collins, Kenny Loggins and Jesco White all host their own stations. The score is split three ways: Tangerine Dream, the Alchemist and Oh No, and Woody Jackson. All individual composers’ work will be triggered by a specific character or area in the game.

“The first time you come into the country you’re blown away by Woody Jackson’s rock score, but within that you’re still hearing elements of Tangerine Dream, and Alchemist and Oh No. So you’re never too far away from this core sound that we’ve established for the game,” added Pavlovich.
