Young Thug Announces the Third Installment of Slime Season Series
2016 is shaping up nice for music fans. Future surprised fans with a mixtape, Kanye West announced SWISH‘s release date, and Wiz Khalifa’s album is due to drop on February 5. On that same date, Young Thug will unleash a brand-new body of work of titled Slime Season 3.
The 300 Entertainment artist’s latest installment comes just months after Slime Season 2. He’s remained consistent with releases since that October debut, releasing new music, visuals and collaborations often. Yesterday, he paired with Young Dro for a song titled “Top Notch.”
Young Thug is still prepping the release of his long-awaited debut album, Hy!£UN35, which was scheduled to arrive last fall. In the meantime, lookout for Slime Season 3 on February 5.
It looks like artists aren’t moving away from the trend of surprise projects anytime soon. The latest artist to release a project in this fashion is MMG’s own Stalley. Yesterday, the Ohio native debuted a mixtape titled Saving Yusuf. The 15-track project includes features from Chuck Inglish, Big K.R.I.T, and more.
It’s been awhile since we last heard from Stalley. Before dropping off a visual for “Viola” last summer, he let off The Laughing Introvert EP. “At the end of the day I want to leave a respectable impression on the world and I want people to look back like ‘he carried himself gracefully, he was always humble, polite, appreciative,’” he told Clash magazine.
Listen to Stalley’s newest tape below.
We’re quickly approaching the release date of Kanye West’s SWISH. With February 11 closing in, it’s more than likely that news about the Chicago rapper will be flooding the Internet for days. While Ye has already given fans something to talk about with the release of “Real Friends” and “No More Parties in L.A.,” it’s his friends who continue to build the hype.
The world has already heard good things about the album from Pusha T, Malik Yusef, Big Boy, and Travis Scott. The latter even describing SWISH as “a very good f*cking good album.” But with most focusing on the music, Consequence decided to focus on Ye’s recently revealed tracklisting. According to him, ‘Ye has handwritten a tracklist before.
“Some things never change… The ritual continues… This is the First First handwritten Tracklisting of “The College Dropout” by Kanye from around I think 03,'” he wrote in an Instagram caption. “’18 Years’ would later go on to become ‘Gold Digger’ and ‘Good,Bad,Ugly’ was swapped for ‘Spaceship’ and later used on #DayJob #HistoricalDocument📜#CollectorsItem 💎💎💎 #BuriedTreasure👑👑👑 @companyofgreatness 2016 #AGoodComebackStoryEP.”
