There’s no question that the Air Jordan 1 flourished in 2015. This year’s AJ 1 drops include original iterations like the “Laser,” “Shattered Backboard” and “Los Angeles,” as well as standout collaborations with the likes of Dover Street Market and Just Don. But all the new colorways and collabs can’t compare to what 2016 has in store: the return of a coveted OG colorway, remastered with premium materials.
The Air Jordan 1 Hi Retro “Bred” will be making a return fall 2016. While the news is certainly enough to get Jordanheads fired up, there’s more. We know that the AJ 1 will return in the classic “Bred” colorway sometime next fall (possibly September). However, what version of the OG silhouette will drop is still up in the air.
There are currently rumors that the anticipated release may arrive in the form of the famous “Banned” edition of the Air Jordan 1. It’s also being rumored that the remastered release will feature the caliber of materials used for the Air Jordan 1 Hi “Shattered Backboard” that dropped earlier this year. If whispers about either of those details is true, we may be in for the best overall Air Jordan 1 Retro release in a long time.
Stay tuned for updates on a release date and photos of the remastered Air Jordan 1 Hi Retro. Keep your fingers crossed that the photos surface with a red “X” stamped on the heel so we know it’s real.
In the meantime, own some Jumpman nostalgia by copping the Air Jordan 11 “72-10” this Saturday.
